Hard Summer

Lack of rainfall can take a toll on many aquatic species. The gar with its unique swim bladder functions as a primitive lung and allows them to live in water with little to no oxygen. Gar can only survive as long as the water covers their body. (the death of this gar was more than likely the result of predation from a raccoon or possibly bobcat)

The Waiting Game
